Marty had a tough exterior, but a heart of gold. He lived hard, played hard, and did things his way. He was a volunteer with the Tubac-Tumacacori Fire Dept., the Santa Cruz County Search and Rescue, and was always ready to lend a hand to someone.

His family was devastated by the accident which caused his injuries, but we remembered a conversation that we had one time at breakfast about not wanting to be kept alive by artificial means. We asked the medical team about organ donation, knowing that he could again lend a hand to someone in need. We know that he lives on through those he helped.
