Maxx Rose, Transplant Recipient
I am forever grateful to my donor...
That night when I received “The Call,” the one we had been waiting for, I thought I would be so happy and excited! But after hanging up from hearing that they found me a new heart, I felt an overwhelming sadness and grief. I knew that this meant I got my second chance at having a full life, but I also knew the cost, and I grieved. I prayed for God to comfort my donor’s family and friends and send them peace. I prayed God would wrap his loving arms around them and help them through this horrible time. When I was done praying, I called my husband and told him the news. My “gift” has been a blessing that has allowed me three more years (and counting) with my children, my husband, my family and friends. I got to see my boys play baseball and my daughter go on her first date. I am so blessed! And I am forever grateful to my donor for giving me the gift of life! A gift I can never repay, except to live my life to the fullest, appreciating every second. Thank you.
