We were the perfect match...
Thirteen years ago, I was in a relationship for two and a half years. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out, and we parted ways in 2004, not because we didn’t love each other, but because of circumstance. I had considered him the love of my life. In 2010, I found out through a mutual friend that he was not doing well. He needed a kidney transplant and had been suffering from kidney failure for the past 3 years. I called him and offered to get tested. We were a perfect match, and two months later, in June 2010, I donated one of my kidneys to him. In November 2010, we rekindled our love and in May 2013, we will exchange vows and be married.
God crossed our paths again, maybe not in the best of circumstances, but I’m sure He has His reason and plan. Now, we not only hold a love bond, but we also hold in our hearts the gift of life. It was the most personally satisfying experience in my life, and I have never regretted the decision I made. To this day, I feel blessed to have been able to give the gift of life, although I was blessed double to have the person that I held dearly in my heart all those years come back to become my husband, and the gratification of saving someone’s life. God couldn’t have blessed me more in life.
